Hospital Interchanger - IHA
The line IHA (Hospital Air Interchanger) was designed to provide a continuous cold water flow for the perfect operation of magnetic resonances, tomography equipments and linear accelerators. They were developed in cooperation with various partners, among them GE, Philips, Siemens, Toshiba, Varian and Elektra, being supplied with specific versions to meet the reliability and durability of each manufacturer. Combining the most advanced technology with competitive prices, the IHA reached a high level of customers’ satisfaction. See some of our differentials:
Double Chilling Circuit
The chillers are supplied with two independent chilling circuits, with 100% redundancy, if necessary. In case of failure in one of the compressors, the other will remain in operation avoiding the possibility of helium loss in the magnet of a magnetic resonance.
Double Chilling Circuit
Possibility of interconnecting various units in parallel.
Automatic Capacity Control
The need for cooling is high during the analysis and becomes much reduced in the standby condition. The chiller is endowed with resources to monitor automatically this variation through the switching, every two hours, between the compressors. This resource, in addition of providing a high power saving and a higher durability to the compressors, guarantees that in the event of failure in one of them, the equipment will continue functioning normally with half of its capacity.
Micro processed Electronic Central (CLP and IHM)
The electronic central is the command, signaling and protection center of the chiller. It has a very high reliability and was projected to provide simplicity. The chiller is operated by turning a single button. The components proper functioning will be signaled by green LEDs. In case of failure, a siren is activated and the red LED’s with inscriptions in Portuguese are lighted. The operator may diagnose the failure, which is often solved by means of a telephone contact with Mecalor Technical Assistance.
Emergency System
If the chiller is disabled due to a failure, the hospital equipment is cooled by the public water system by means of a maneuver of two valves. The water will flow through the equipment, returning to the chiller and leaving through the overflow pipe.
Constructive Details
There are always two compressors with the modern scroll technology to provide a very high reliability, lower noise level and energy savings of up to 25%. In order to meet the water quality requirements, the installed centrifuge pump is made with stainless steel and all the surfaces in contact with the water (reservoir, pipes and valves) are corrosion-resistant. The cabinet is powder-painted with polyester-based paint with a thickness of 80µm to guarantee a longer life in open air installation. The water pressure adjustment is obtained by a water external bypass.
