Photostability Tests
The chemical industries, such as the: pharmaceutical, veterinary, cosmetic, and personal care, among others, make photostability tests for the confirmation of their products stability studies. The non-presentation of the photostability studies must be accompanied by a technical justification with scientific evidence that the active(s) did not suffer degradation with the presence of the light or that the primary packing does not allow the light passage.
The photostability tests aim to expose the product to an appropriate light source and demonstrate that a light exposure does not result in the product significant changes.
The equipments which do not control the temperature cause random results and many times the final result is the mixture of the degradation products generated by the temperature and light. The chamber optical isolation is also very important to avoid loss of light, in addition of being a technical requirement of ANVISA.
Mecalor photostability chamber meets all the necessary requirements so that the tests results are reliable.
